A shutter assembly (130), mounted in a motion film projector (100), that includes a shutter (120) secured to a mounting bracket (240), which houses a pair of trucks (244). The mounting bracket (240) slidably houses one of the trucks (244) to accommodate for the trucks (244) passing over straight and curved portions of the track, or shutter path. The mounting bracket (240) securely houses a first truck (244) and slidably houses a second truck (244). The trucks (244) are rigidly clamped to the conveyor (104). This configuration permits the shutter (120) to be stably coupled to the conveyor (104) while permitting the shutter assembly (130) to travel along both straight and curved paths. The trucks (244) are configured to ride in a raceway (122, 124), which supports the trucks (244) and maintains the trucks (244) on a truck path. The trucks (244) include rollers (126), which roll along an elongated channel formed in the raceway (122, 124), or alternatively include air bearings (506) for carrying the truck (244) along a pressurized raceway (800).
