Apparatus for reducing large pieces of solid plastic material to smaller size for recycling, comprising: a) a longitudinally elongated table having transversely displaced upper and lower segments; b) a cutter between said upper and lower table segments; c) a movable hopper for receiving said large plastic pieces to be size-reduced having an open bottom through which said plastic pieces may contact said table; and d) means for supporting and moving said hopper between upper and lower table segments.

L'invention concerne un appareil permettant de réduire la taille de grandes pièces de matière plastique solide en vue de leur recyclage. Cet appareil est doté: a) d'une table longitudinale dont les segments supérieur et inférieur sont placés transversalement; b) d'un organe de coupe placé entre lesdits segments supérieur et inférieur; c) d'une trémie destinée à recevoir ces grandes pièces en plastic dont il faut réduire la taille et présentant un fond ouvert à travers lequel ces pièces en plastic peuvent entrer en contact avec la table; et des moyens permettant de soutenir et déplacer cette trémie entre les segments inférieur et supérieur.
