ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A side fold or pleat polyethylene bag having front and rear panels, accordion pleat side panels, a closed end and an open end includes a strip extending across one entire panel proximate the closed end of the bag. At least the ends of the strip are connected to the panel, so that the free central portion thereof defines a handle.
