A side impact airbag module including an inflator and a folded airbag is formed into a module by means of an extruded cover. The cover encircles the inflator and airbag and incorporates structure for releasing the airbag upon inflation. Optional end caps may be attached to one or both ends of the module.

Module de coussin gonflable pour protection en cas d'impact latéral comportant un gonfleur et un sac replié contenu sous couvercle moulé par extrusion. Le couvercle contient le gonfleur et le sac, ainsi que le dispositif provoquant le déploiement du sac lors du gonflage. Des bouchons d'extrémité sont fournis en option pour obturer une ou les deux extrémités du module.
