ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A signal comparing circuit having a differential amplifier for comparing first and second input signals with each other and a hysteresis circuit consisting of a variable control type attenuator circuit connected to the differential amplifier at its input terminal side for the first input signal. The attenuator circuit is arranged such that its gain is switched in response to the fluctu- ation of the output from the differential amplifier thereby varying the hysteresis width of the hysteresis circuit in response to the first input signal.
