Abstract of the Disclosure A Voronoi signal constellation includes those points of a coset of a lattice .DELTA. that lie within a Voronoi region of a sublattice .DELTA.' of .DELTA., where .DELTA.' is other than a scaled version of .DELTA.. The Voronoi signal constellation is combined with a coset code. A method of mapping data words to Voronoi constellation points is described.
