A signal device for providing a mechanical indication of a change in an operating condition of an automotive vehicle includes a magnet fixedly mounted on a rod on or in the periphery of the vehicle steering wheel, and a solenoid coil movably mounted on the rod for pulsating against the magnet when energized by a change in operating condition. For example, the solenoid can be connected to the vehicle turn indicator switches for intermittent energizing in synchronism with turn indicator operation.
