A system and method for providing a visual indication of a condition of a network adapted to interface with one or more wireless devices. The inventive system includes a circuit for providing an electrical signal indicative of at least one network condition. A second circuit is included for providing, in response to the electrical signal, a sensory output signal representive of the occurrence of the condition. In the illustrative application, the first circuit is a Network Access Point and the networked devices are Bluetooth enabled. In one embodiment, the sensory output signal is provided by a plurality of light emitting diodes mounted on the Network Access Point. In a preferred embodiment, the Network Access Point is equipped with a Bluetooth transmitter. Network status output signals are received by a Bluetooth receiver mounted in a Personal Digital Assistant.
La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant de fournir une indication visuelle de l'état d'un réseau adapté de façon à interfacer un ou plusieurs dispositifs radio. Ce système comprend un circuit permettant de fournir un signal électrique indicatif d'au moins un état de réseau. Ce système comprend aussi un second circuit permettant de fournir, en réponse à ce signal électrique, un signal de sortie sensoriel représentatif de la survenue dudit état. Dans l'application servant d'exemple, le premier circuit est un point d'accès au réseau et les dispositifs en réseau possèdent la capacité Bluetooth. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, le signal de sortie sensoriel est fourni par une pluralité de diodes électroluminescentes montées sur le point d'accès au réseau. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré de l'invention, le point d'accès au réseau est équipé d'un émetteur Bluetooth. Les signaux de sortie d'état du réseau sont reçus par un récepteur Bluetooth monté dans un assistant numérique personnel.
