ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a signal recording apparatus, a signal recording track and a tracking error detection track are formed in the predetermined positions of a recording track in ordinary recording. In editing and recording, an editing recording track is formed on the basis of the tracking error detection track, thereby it is possible to restrict a deviation of tracking to a predetermined amount even when editing work is repeated in a case where tracking deviation occurs at a start of editing work.
