ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A head signal simulator for generating simulated signals So from a magnetic recording head without use of the head or associated media, wherein the signals So can be readily varied in amplitude and frequency-content to syn- thesize various head-readback waveforms. The simulator comprises reference oscillator means inputted to a plurality of prescribed phase-lock loop circuits.
