A method of transmitting signalling information in a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) between a pair of peer application parts. An adaptation layer is interposed between the SCCP of an SS7 network and a TCP/IP part to allow signalling data to be transmitted to and from the SCCP via an IP based network. The adaptation layer provides for translation between Destination Point Codes (DPCs) and or global titles, used as addresses in the SS7 network, and IP addresses/port numbers for use in the IP network. The adaptation layer also provides for formatting of SCCP messages suitable for processing by the TCP/IP layers, and also for formatting signalling information flowing in the reverse direction.

Procédé permettant de transmettre des informations de signalisation dans un réseau mobile terrestre public (RMTP) entre paire de sous-systèmes d'application homologues. Une couche d'adaptation, interposée entre le sous-système de commande des connexions sémaphores (SCCP) d'un réseau SS7 et un sous-système TCP/IP, permet d'échanger les données de signalisation avec le SCCP via un réseau à base IP. La couche d'adaptation assure la traduction entre les codes de point de destination (DPC) et/ou les appellations globales, utilisés comme base d'adressage dans le réseau SS7, et les adresses/numéros de points d'accès IP utilisés dans le réseau IP. La couche d'adaptation permet également de formater les messages SCCP de façon qu'ils puissent être traités par les couches TCP/IP, ainsi que les informations de signalisation circulant en sens inverse.
