An inorganic substrate with two or more coating layers is provided. The first coating layer is attached to the inorganic substrate and includes the polymeric reaction product formed upon hydrolysis of a silane compound having at least two tri(C1-C3)alkoxysilyl groups. The second and subsequent coating layers include at least one hydrophilic polymer and at least one photoactivatable cross-linking agent. The inorganic substrate can be a medical device suitable for insertion into the body of a mammal. The coatings are tenacious and not easily removed from the inorganic substrate by abrasion.
L'invention concerne un substrat inorganique comprenant au moins deux couches de revêtement. La première couche de revêtement est fixée audit substrat inorganique et comprend un produit de réaction polymère formé lors de l'hydrolyse d'un composé de silane comprenant au moins deux groupes tri(C¿1?-C¿3?)alcoxysilyle. La seconde et les couches de revêtement suivantes comprennent au moins un polymère hydrophile et au moins un agent de réticulation photoactivable. Le substrat inorganique peut être un dispositif médical approprié pour être introduit dans le corps d'un mammifère. Les revêtements sont tenaces et ne sont pas facilement retirés de substrat inorganique par abrasion.
