TITLE SILICA COATED OLEFIN-ACID COPOLYMER MOLDING PELLETS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A normally solid addition polymer having dramatically increased tack resistance is disclosed. The polymer contains at least 25 weight percent repeating units derived from ethylene, at least 60 weight percent units derived from an alpha-olefin containing 2-10 carbon atoms, from 2 to 50 weight percent repeating units derived from an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid containing 3 to 8 carbon atoms, which has 0.034 to 13.4 g/m2 on its surface of silica having a particle size of from 0.004 to 5 µm. The polymers e.g. certain ionomers and ethylene/n-butyl acrylate/methacrylic acid copolymers, may be purged at higher temperatures and packaged in hopper cars with no effect on physical properties.
