Wax coated silica matting agent wherein the silica is an amorphous silica having a pore volume of at least 1.5 cm3/g, preferably at least 1.8 cm3/g, the wax coating being present in the range from 6 % to 15 % by weight of the matting agent and comprising a synthetic polyethylene wax.
