ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Crystalline silica-titania catalyst compositions, optionally containing magnesium, are disclosed; the titanium is introduced through the use of organo-titanate chelates wherein the titanium has a coordination number of at least 5. The compositions are used in acid-catalyzed reactions such as alkylation reactions.
