An adhesive composition comprising (in percent by weight) from about 0.05 to about 0.5 % sodium silicate, from about 10 to about 47 % dextrin, from about 17 to about 70 % alkali metal silicate, from about 0.05 to about 0.5 % sodium metaborate octahydrate or sodium metaborate tetrahydrate, and from about 18 to about 62 % water; and a process for preparing the same. The adhesive composition is useful in the manufacture of paper products, such as paper tubes, corrugated boards and corner boards.

Cette composition adhésive comprend (en pourcentage pondéral) d'environ 0,05 à environ 0,5 % de silicate de sodium, d'environ 10 à environ 47 % de dextrine, d'environ 17 à environ 70 % de silicate de métal alcalin, d'environ 0,05 à environ 0,5 % d'octahydrate métaborate de sodium ou de tétrahydrate métaborate de sodium, et d'environ 18 à environ 62 % d'eau. On décrit également un procédé de préparation de cette composition adhésive, laquelle est utile dans la fabrication de produits à base de papier, tels que des tubes en papier, du carton ondulé et des éléments angulaires en carton.
