The invention is a composition made by mixing a multifunctional acrylate with an aminofunctional silane and an ethylenically unsatturated acid to form a reaction product, optionally dissolved in a solvent, characterized in that multifunctional acrylate has a molecular weight of from about 100 to about 3000. The compositon can be coated on a substrate, then optionally exposed to moisture and treated to initiate a free radical reaction. The invention can be applied to a variety of substrates used in packaging applications. The reaction mixture can further be cured by heating in the presence of moisture. The free radical reaction can be initiated by electron beam irriadiation, ultraviolet radiation, gamma radiation, and/or heat and chemical free radical initiators.
L'invention concerne une composition que l'on prépare en mélangeant un acrylate polyvalent avec un silane aminofonctionnel et un acide insaturé sur le plan éthylénique, afin de former un produit de réaction, éventuellement dissous dans un solvant, et qui est caractérisée en ce que l'acrylate polyvalent possède un poids moléculaire compris entre environ 100 et environ 3000. On peut déposer cette composition sur un substrat, puis on l'expose, le cas échéant, à l'humidité et on la traite afin d'amorcer une réaction radicalaire. L'invention peut s'appliquer à divers substrats utilisés dans l'emballage. On peut faire durcir ultérieurement le mélange de réaction en le chauffant en présence d'humidité. La réaction radicalaire peut être amorcée par un rayonnement d'un faisceau d'électrons, par un rayonnement ultraviolet, par un rayonnement gamma, et/ou par de la chaleur et des amorceurs chimiques radicalaires.
