The present invention relates to silver-coloured lustre pigments based on multiply coated platelet-shaped substrates, comprising at least one layer sequence of (A) a high refractive coating consisting of TiO2 and having a thickness of 5-200 nm, (B) a colourless coating having a refractive index n<=1.8 and a thickness of 10-300 nm, (C) a high refractive coating consisting of TiO2 and having a thickness of 5-200 nm, and optionally (D) an outer, protective layer. and to the use thereof in paints, coatings, printing inks, including security printing inks, plastics, ceramic materials, glasses and cosmetic formulations and for producing pigment preparations and dry product forms.
