ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Photographic film bases and sensitised photographic films are produced by coating a supporting film with a subbing copolymer comprising one or more comonomers selected from acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid and/or derivatives thereof which is then subjected to a surface modifying corona discharge treatment. Light-sensitive photographic emulsions adhere directly to the treated subbing layer without the need for and intermediate gelatin subbing layer.
