ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having provided thereon a hydrophilic colloid layer and a silver halide emulsion layer. The silver halide emulsion layer contains tabular silver halide grains having a diameter at least 3 times their thickness and also contains a compound represented by general formula (I) or (II): Image (I) Image (II) the substituents are defined within the specification. The material obtains the advantages of utilizing tabular silver halide grains while having a reduced dependents of its photographic properties on development processing conditions which normally effect materials containing tabular silver halide grains.
