Disclosed is a silver halide photographic material comprising a base and at least one silver halide emulsion layer formed on the base, characterized in that the silver chloride content of silver halide grains constituting the silver halide emulsion layer is 95 mole % or above, that the silver halide emulsion is spectrally sensitized by specific sensitizing dye, and that the silver halide emulsion layer contains a yellow coupler, a magenta coupler and a cyan coupler; and an image-forming process characterized by developing the silver halide photographic material with a color developer substantially free from benzyl alcohol.
