ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A super-high contrast negative type silver halide photographic material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, said emulsion layer or layers or other hydrophilic colloid layer or layers containing at least one compound selected from hydrazine derivatives represented by formula (I), and at least one compound selected from compounds represented by formula (II); Image (I) wherein A1 and A2 both represent hydrogen atoms or one represents a hydrogen atom and the other represents a sul- finic acid residual group or an acyl group, Ra represents an aliphatic group, aromatic group or heterocyclic group, Rb represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group, alkoxyl group, aryloxyl group or an amino group, and G1 represents a carbonyl group, sulfonyl group, sulfoxyl group, phosphoryl group or iminomethylene group, provided that at least one of Ra and Rb is a group which promotes adsorption on silver halide. - 94 - Image (II) wherein Yo represents a group which promotes adsorption on silver halide, Ao represents a divalent linking group, B represents an amino group, ammonium group or a nitrogen containing heterocyclic group, m represents 1, 2 or 3, and n represents 0 or 1. - 95 -
