ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A silver halide photosensitive material having a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a specific water- soluble dye including at least three acid radicals. Water- soluble dye in the hydrophilic colloid layer absorbs light in the infrared region but does not adversely affect the photographic characteristics of the photographic emulsion and is discolored upon photographic processing.
