ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Monosilver phosphanilate and disilver phos- phanilate were prepared and found to be potent anti- bacterial agents, especially against strains of Pseudomonas, suitable for use in the topical therapy of burns. A method is also disclosed for inhibiting the growth of bacteria on an inanimate object, comprising contacting the object with a bacterial growth inhibiting amount of a silver salt of phosphanilic acid.
