ABSTRACT A extremely simple and robust alignment coupling between two parts of a prosthetic limb, the angulation device being machined from inexpensive materials in three machining operations on a woodworking lathe and drill. The complete alignment coupling device, consisting of the machined body, four adjustment screws and four attachment screws, enables rapid quantitative translational and angular adjustments to be made in two mutually orthogonal planes defining posterior-anterior positioning and medial-lateral positioning. Adjustments in each plane are accomplished by means of a pair of opposing set screws. Detachable measurement and motorisation assemblies may enhance the precision and ease with which adjustments can be made.
