The invention relates to a system (26) for controlling the setting of a propeller blade for a turboshaft engine, which includes two automatic blocking elements (64a, 64b) adapted, depending on their controlled positions, for blocking the rotation of the bearing of a blade shank (52) in both rotation directions (55a, 55b), or for enabling the rotation of the bearing of the blade shank in either one of said directions.
