ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a method for determin- ing component content in a sample substance, wherein the sample substance is passed into a cuvette and radiation of the measuring instrument is caused to pass therethrough, the difference between the part of the radiation absorbed in the sample substance and the part of the radiation correspondingly absorbed in the reference sample constituting a measure of the content of the component to be determined, the improvement in which the alternation of the sample substance and the reference substance for their mutual comparison being carried out by passing into a sole cuvette of the measuring instrument, the sample substance and the refer- ence substance in alternation, the difference of their absorptions being measured by integrating in synchronism with the change of substances, alternatingly, the radiation that has passed through the sample substance and the radiation which has passed through the reference substance.
