ABSTRACT A juice extractor for extracting juice from one fruit per machine cycle is provided. The juice extractor has interdigitating upper and lower fruit cups, a strainer tube positioned below the fruit cup, an orifice tube supported for reciprocal movement by means of orifice tube drive linkage through the strainer tube. The improvement in the system comprises a drive device for moving the orifice tube through the strainer tube at least twice per machine cycle. This facilitates the development of juice extractors which are useful at point of sale or provide for portability.
