AN IMPROVED SINGLE IMAGE PICKUP TUBE TYPE COLOR TELEVISION CAMERA SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a single image pickup tube type color television camera system. The system in- cludes an electrostatic focusing and electromagnetic deflection type image pickup tube which includes an electron beam control electrode and a plurality of focusing electrodes. An electron beam alignment unit is provided for producing a magnetic field disposed adjacent the image pickup tube in the vicinity of the control electrode. A deflection unit is disposed adjacent the tube and apart from the alignment wait along the longitudinel axis of the tube. A unit is provided for correct- ing color shading and is comprised of a magnetic material which is selectively disposed adjacent the tube in the vicinity of the beam alignment unit. The color shade correcting unit has a magnetic field intensity which effects some portion of the magnetic field of the beam alignment unit thereby reducing color shading effects.
