A hollow sucker rod progressive cavity pumping system permits the production of fluid within the hollow sucker rod. The pumping system includes a rigid well head, a hollow rod string and a stationary string which includes a pump assembly. The stationary string is run in and set with the hollow rod string. Also disclosed is a method of setting a downhole rotary pump in one trip.
