A B S T R A C T A known type of overflow structure for a sink requires two separate pieces for making a connection to the sink wall in- cluding an elbow and an open ended cap (nut). The elbow has a female thread and the cap, which has a male thread, is screwed into the elbow from the inside of the sink to secure the elbow to the outside of the sink, the cap pressing a resilient washer, e.g. rubber or plastic, against the wall of the sink. The present invention provides a simple one piece structure which can be installed in the overflow opening from the inside of the sink. The sink is provided with a hole having a number of outwardly extending notches and the elbow has a like number of lugs spaced apart from a flange at the inner end of the elbow. The outer end of the elbow is inserted through the overflow opening in the sink and orientated so that the lugs pass through the notches. The elbow is then simply turned so that the lugs engage the back of the sink wall and compress a washer between the flange and the inner surface of the sink wall. Thereafter, one end of a flexible hose can be force fitted over the end of the elbow and the other end force fitted over a fitting communicating with the drain tube depending from the drain opening in the sink. The ends of the flexible hose axe clamped, if necessary.
