SINK STRAINER ABSTRACT A sink strainer is disclosed of the kind that alternatively holds a sealing washer out of sealing engagement with the sink, for straining, or engages the sealing washer to plug the sink. In place of the conventional springy steel stem, a plastic stem is disclosed. The stem has a tongue that is slotted to define two arms: the arms are resilient and the resilience is used to hold the strainer firmly plugged. The plastic stem is a one-piece moulding of chunky, robust, shape. DELRIN 100 is the preferred material.
