An applicator is provided that is adjustable in size for application and storage purposes. The applicator has first and second bodies each supporting an applicator medium in the form of a plurality of bristles, a sponge or a fibrous material. The first and second bodies serve as handles for the applicator. The bodies are connected by a hinge (or other means) to allow them to be selectively repositioned to change the relative dimensions of the applicator. The hinge permits the second body to selectively move relative to the first body, from a first position wherein the depth of the applicator medium is relatively greater, to a second position wherein the width of the applicator medium is relatively greater. First position provides dimensions that are more convenient for storage in a compact with relatively small dimensions, while second position provides dimensions more convenient for applying cosmetic to a broader application area.
L'invention concerne un applicateur réglable en taille destiné à être utilisé à des fins d'application et de stockage. L'applicateur présente des premier et second corps supportant chacun un support applicateur sous la forme d'une pluralité de poils, d'une éponge ou d'une matière fibreuse. Les premier et second corps servent de poignées à l'applicateur. Les corps sont reliés par une charnière (ou par d'autres moyens) afin de leur permettre d'être sélectivement repositionnés de manière à modifier les dimensions relatives de l'applicateur. La charnière permet au second corps de se déplacer sélectivement relativement au premier corps, d'une première position dans laquelle la profondeur du support applicateur est relativement supérieure, à une seconde position dans laquelle la largeur du support applicateur est relativement supérieure. La première position permet d'obtenir des dimensions qui sont plus pratiques pour le stockage dans un poudrier présentant des dimensions relativement petites ; tandis que la seconde position permet d'obtenir des dimensions plus pratiques pour l'application de cosmétique sur une zone d'application plus large.
