ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Glass fibers containing leachable tetravalent ions are sized at forming with an aqueous dispersion of emulsified resin particles in an aqueous medium containing a purposeful addition of salt. The aqueous coating material preferably also utilizes emulsified resin particles that are coated with a protective colloid which hydrolyzes in an alkali medium to a pH which is reached by the materials which leach out of the fibers during prolonged standings.
