In various aspects the invention provides an apparatus for forming a slurry from an oil sand ore comprising an ore processor bed operative to receive and comminute the ore and produce a granular material while screening and sorting the ore from an oversize material unsuitable for slurry formation in a slurry vessel. The ore processor bed comprises a frame disposed over an upper opening of the slurry vessel, the frame supporting the plurality of driven spaced apart rotatable elements and comprising an elongated upper portion of the ore processor bed formed at least in part by the plurality of spaced apart rotatable elements. The apparatus further comprising a sprayer operative to spray the ore with a solvent along the elongated upper portion as the ore is transported by the rotatable elements, the sprayer disposed over and directed towards the elongated upper portion of the ore processor bed.
Selon différents aspects, l'invention concerne un appareil pour la formation d'une boue à partir de minerai de sable bitumineux et comprenant un lit de traitement du minerai fonctionnant pour recevoir et acheminer le minerai et produire un matériau granulaire tout en criblant et en éliminant le minerai d'un matériau surdimensionné non convenable pour la formation de boue dans un récipient à boue. Le lit de traitement du minerai comprend un cadre placé au-dessus d'une ouverture supérieure du récipient à boue, le cadre supportant une pluralité d'éléments rotatifs espacés et comprenant une portion supérieure allongée du lit de traitement du minerai formée au moins partiellement par une pluralité d'éléments rotatifs espacés. L'appareil comprend également un gicleur fonctionnant de manière à pulvériser un solvant sur le minerai le long de la portion supérieure allongée à mesure que le minerai est acheminé par les éléments rotatifs, le gicleur étant placé au-dessus de la portion supérieure allongée du lit de traitement du minerai et orienté vers celle-ci.
