A chassis (10) is provided having particular suitability for in-line roller skates. The chassis (10) is formed from unibody aluminum construction and generally comprises longitudinally extending members (20, 22) mounted below forefoot and heel attachment members (12, 14). The longitudinal members (20, 22) generally form an "A-frame" when viewed in axial cross section. The A-frame is characterized by angled upper portions (24) and substantially parallel lower portions (26). The chassis (10) provides improved power transfer efficiency and enhanced structural integrity.
