Abstract of the Disclosure An abrasive sharpening stone for sharpening ice skates, commonly known as a "skate hone", is provided with flat sharp- ening surfaces and a bearing edge having a convex shape. The skate hone contains abrasive granules bonded together by a bonding agent, and can be produced in the desired shape by loading a wedge-shaped mold which is provided with symmetrical plungers, each having an inclined planar molding surface having about half the desired incline for the finished stone, with a level charge comprising abrasive and unfired, uncured bonding agent, which is then pressed, removed from the mold and fired or cured.
