ABSTRACT A hand operated skate sharpening device for skate blades comprises a cylindrical handle with a first longitudinal slot and a second transverse slot both of which expose portions of a cylindrical sharpening metal file within the handle along the axis of the handle. The longitudinal slot allows sharpening of concave skate edges. The transverse slot allows sharpening of square skate edges.
