ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A ski attachment particularly suited for use when climbing uphill is disclosed. The attachment is comprised of a base member which is secured near the rear end of a ski and a blade member pivotally mounted on the base member, which blade member is adapted to be disposed in its operative position rearwardly downwardly of the end of the ski to penetrate snow and/or ice on which the skier traverses and thereby to provide for temporary anchoring or braking to prevent back sliding of the skier. The blade member is re- leasable from the anchoring position by forward movement of the ski.
