ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a device to be mounted on a cross-country ski or the like and is used to prevent slipping when climbing and to assist in braking when going down a hil. The device comprises a body formed with an opening to enable the pointed end of a ski pole to be inserted therein until it penetrates into snow underneath the ski. The body should be adapted to be fixed on the upper face of the ski.
