The invention concerns a stick (10) such as a ski stick, a walking stick or the like, which has a handle (12) and a cane (14), the length of which can be altered, as well as an adjusting device (22) with which at least one gripping area of the stick handle (12) can be adjusted in a bent position relative to the cane (14). The purpose of the invention is to obtain a stick which can be folded into a compact unit as small as possible. To this end the stick cane (14) has two sections (24, 26) joined together by the adjusting device (22) and the adjusting device (22) is accommodated outside the cane of the stick (14).
