A floatable water ski rope cover includes a foam core wherein the rope is inserted, and a nylon sleeve covering the foam core and the rope. Said sleeve is also capable of removably attaching said core and sleeve onto the water vessel. In this position, the ski rope cover is capable of preventing the ski rope from being pulled under water by the backwash caused by the water vessel's motor and thereby protecting the rope, the motor and the water skier getting ready to be pulled. Said ski rope cover is easily handled and installed.
