Landing gear for helicopter, including two skids P each having a longitudinal ground contact section 1 and being connected to a forward crossmember and an aft crossmember 2, which are in turn attached to the airframe by brackets 4, 6, the aft crossmember 2 being attached at the tips of its lower ends 2a to the after part of the said longitudinal contact sections 1. Each of the said skids P has at its forward end an inclined transition zone T having two curves C1, C2 and being aligned perpendicular to the said longitudinal ground contact sections, above the plane of these sections, the two transition zones constituting together, in this manner, an integrated forward crossmember, offset in relation to the forward limit of the plane of contact with the ground of the said longitudinal contact sections of the skids. Application to light helicopters.
