A B S T R A C T A tree skidder having a combined boom, grapple and bunk assembly mounted on the skidding vehicle and movable longitudinally relative thereto and actuated by hydraulic power means for effecting the longitudinal movement, the grapple of the assembly is also provided with abutments to engage the load, stabilizing the grapple relative to the load of trees grasped by the grapple. The bunk consists of two members between which the grapple is located during the skidding, and one bunk is pivotally mounted so as to be movable towards and away from the other bunk permitting grasping the grapple therebetween, stabilizing the same when moving from one location to another without carrying a load.
