The present invention relates to topical compositions for effecting an immediate improvement in the appearance and feel of skin, in addition to providing chronic improvements in skin appearance. The compositions comprise from 0.5 % to 25 % of a first particulate material having a refractive index of from 1.3 to 1.7, the particulate material being dispersed in the composition and having a median particle size of from 2 to 30 µm, and an active effective for chronically regulating skin condition selected from Vitamin B3 compounds, retinoids, and mixtures thereof. Preferred embodiments are oil in water emulsions further comprising a second particulate material having a larger particle size than the first.

L'invention concerne des compositions topiques procurant à l'aspect et à la texture de la peau un soin immédiat tout en agissant à long terme. Les compositions renferment entre 0,5 % et 25 % d'une première matière particulaire dont l'indice de réfraction oscille entre 1,3 et 1,7 et la matière particulaire, dont la granulométrie moyenne va de 2 à 30 mu m, est dispersée dans la composition. La composition renferme encore une substance active, sélectionnée dans les composés de vitamine B3, les rétinoïdes et leurs mélanges, qui a un effet revitalisant prolongé sur la peau. Ces compositions se présentent, de préférence, sous forme d'émulsions de type aqueux contenant une seconde matière particulaire dont la granulométrie est supérieure à celle de la première matière précitée.
