A skin care composition comprising an acrylate polymer; a yield value increaser and a surfactant. The composition has a yield value of at least about 4. More specifically, the skin care composition may comprise a. an acrylate polymer; and b. a surfactant system comprising an anionic surfactant and a zwitterionic surfactant, wherein a ratio of zwitterionic surfactant to anionic surfactant is greater than 1; wherein the composition has a yield value in Pa of at least 4 as measured on a Brookfield Yield Rheometer YR-1 at 25°C using spindle #72. Also included within the scope of the invention are related methods, such as methods of depositing a hydrophobic material on an epidermal surface and methods of incorporating a hydrophobic material into a skin care composition.
