Disclosed is a skin cosmetic composition contain- ing, as the active ingredient, at least one compound of the formula (I): Image (I) wherein R1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; R represents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or a cycloalkyl cycloalkyl group having 3 to 7 carbon atoms; and X represents -O- or -NH-. This is useful for treating rough, chapped, cracked or aging skin.
