Skin preparations for external use containing a melanin formation inhibitor which is highly stable to heat and oxidation and thus suffers from no degradation/coloration in the preparations with the passage of time, as observed in the existing melanin formation inhibitors. These preparations contain, as the melanin formation inhibitor, hydroquinone-.alpha.- glucopyranoside having an excellent effect of inhibiting human tyrosinase activity.

La présente invention concerne des préparations dermatologiques pour usage externe contenant un inhibiteur de formation de la mélanine qui est très stable à la chaleur et l'oxydation, et, qui par conséquent ne subit dans le temps aucune dégradation ou coloration susceptible d'affecter la préparation, contrairement à ce que l'on observe généralement dans le cas des inhibiteurs existants de la mélanogenèse. En l'occurrence, l'inhibiteur de mélanogenèse contenu dans ces préparations est l'hydroquinone-.alpha.-glucopyranoside qui se distingue particulièrement comme inhibiteur de l'activité tyrosinase humaine.
