ABSTRACT Skin tanning composition, comprising at least the following ingredients: - an oil fraction, comprising straight or branched paraffinic oils, having 10-30 carbon atoms in the chain and preferably 15-25 carbon atoms, - an emulsifying systen, mainly comprising: a) mono and/or diglycerides of higher unsaturated and/or saturated natural fatty acids, and b) ethoxylated glycerides, esterified with fatty acids, whereby the ratio between the amount of mono and/or diglycerides on the one hand and of the ethoxylated triglycerides on the other hand may vary from 10-100 parts mono and/or diglycerides pro part ethoxylated triglycerides, - panthenol and more preferably D-panthenol, and tyrosine and more preferably L-tyrosine, or a compound from which tyrosine may be easily formed in situ in the aqueous phase, the pH of which has to be in the range from 4-7, in a mutual molar ratio of tyrosine : panthenol between 2:1 and 1:3, - alkali to adjust the pH of the aqueous phase to be in the range from 4-7, e.g. in the form of sodium citrate and/or sodium hydroxide. - a stabilizer, consisting of montmorillonites, the free oxygen sites of which are occupied by quaternary groups, - a preservative, being the same or different for the formed contineous oily phase and the dispersed aqueous phase, - water ad 100 % by weight.
