L'invention porte sur un procédé cosmétique exerçant l'une au moins des fonctions bénéficiaires à la peau suivantes: traitement ou prévention des rides, affaissements de la peau et/ou dommages dues à l'irradiation; renfort de la production de décorine dans la peau; renfort de l'activité des transglutaminase de type I et type III dans la peau; accroissement de la souplesse du stratum corneum; amélioration de la desquamation et de la différentiation épidermique; éclaircissement de la couleur de la peau; régulation de la sécrétion de sébum; sédation des peaux irritées, rouges ou/ou sensibles; amélioration de la texture, de la douceur et de la fermeté de la peau; amélioration générale de la qualité de la peau. Ledit procédé se base sur l'utilisation d'une quantité efficace d'un extrait de Chromolaena Odorata.
